Education is the foundation of every nation's success or failure; it produces upstanding citizens, lifts people out of poverty, and catalyzes change. Crisis in Education, (CITC) seeks to put a spot on the harsh realities of the current state of education in the United States and its repercussions on underserved and marginalized communities.
The failures of our education system in marginalized communities have led to dismal outcomes. In fact, those students are more likely to drop out of high school are disproportinately higher rates when compared to students living in non marginalized communities. The consequences of these education failures lead to crime, drug usage and sustained poverty. These failures have are robbing our young people of any opportunity to pursue their dreams and compete in the global workforce, hampering social mobility, and stifling economic growth.
CITC aims to investigate these education failures, engage parents and other key stakeholders and work towards goals that will result in changes to better educate our kids. No kid in the United States to should receive subpar education.
More and more, alongside school districts, cities are creating their own programs to ensure that all kids, especially those in underserved communities.
